Accounting Salaries, Hiring on the Rise in 2019

Staffing company Randstad USA has released its 2019 Salary Guide for accounting and finance professionals, detailing a wide range of salaries and hiring trends for professionals across the country.
The report noted that the accounting and finance industry will see a job growth rate of 10 percent this year, a "higher rate than the combined average of all other occupations" covered in the guide. But with the accounting unemployment rate (2.5 percent) lower than the national average (3.7 percent), employers will have to work twice as hard to land top talent.

In this course students will learn accounting, business and financial concepts over the course of the school year. The success of students in this course will be the result of the combined efforts of the students and the teacher, as well as the support of your parents/guardians.
Communication will be an integral component of our achievement. Therefore, during class students are encouraged to appropriately participate, ask questions and engage in the topics being discussed.
In addition, students may schedule additional time for assistance during Study Halls and/or after school. Arrangements should be made in advance to establish these appointments.

College Accounting Course Description:
This is a full year course upon the successful completion of which students will earn 1 full unit of high school credit. In addition, this course is offered for college credit through the Hudson Valley Community College (“HVCC”) College in the High School program. Students who register and successfully
complete all the requirements of the course may earn up to 4 transferable college credits by taking this course.
The College Accounting course will provide students with a foundation in accounting that will be useful to them whether they are preparing for a career in business or for use in their everyday lives.
First Semester: Principles of Accounting (all the basic theory)
During the first semester students will be introduced to basic accounting terms and language, as well as accounting principles and procedures.
Second Semester: Financial Accounting (analyzing and using accounting information)
During the second semester students will participate in a 1 semester college level financial accounting program. They will expand upon their knowledge of the basic accounting concepts and techniques and gain a better understanding of financial reports and measuring and reporting on the Operating Cycle and the Balance Sheet.
This is a full year course upon the successful completion of which students will earn 1 full unit of high school credit. In addition, this course is offered for college credit through the Hudson Valley Community College (“HVCC”) College in the High School program. Students who register and successfully complete all the requirements of the course may earn up to 4 transferable college credits by taking this course.
COLLEGE CREDIT:
Students who wish to earn up to 4 College credits for this course must register with Hudson Valley Community College and pay the appropriate tuition. In order to register, the student must complete the required student registration form (“SRI”); pay the tuition prior to its due date and obtain, sign and submit a Certificate of Residence form.
The registration information will be sent home in late December and will be due back in January.
Students will be responsible for submitting their Registration Forms, payments and their Certificate of
Residence.
The cost varies each year - so this information will be distributed to the students once it is available.
Course Supplies:
Students are expected to bring all supplies/materials to class everyday, unless instructed otherwise. It is the students responsibility to ensure that items distributed in class are maintained in an orderly fashion and submitted for review and grading on time. If a students is absent from class, items provided during class will be placed in a designated place or given to the students at the next class that attended.
